Ant Control Loganville GA

Fire ants are a nuisance. They tear up your yard or driveway with their mounds, and they bite your family and your pets. Some people are even allergic to their stings and may suffer from anaphylactic shock, much like bee stings. If you are stung by a fire ant, clean the wound and treat it like you would any other insect sting or bite. If you show symptoms of an allergic reaction, seek prompt medical attention.

While fire ants build their 18-24 inch mounds in most types of soil, they prefer open sunny areas, and lawns are no exception. Their mounds can often be located in rotting logs or around stumps and trees. They can even be found in and under buildings. Most people identify fire ants by their reddish color. They like to eat insects and other bugs, seeds, and even some types of fruit or meats. Fire ants will even eat newborn or dead animals such as birds, rodents, and calves.

Quick Facts
•    Fire ants are mildly venomous to humans and may cause a severe allergic reaction in some people
•    Colonies can get as big as 250,000 workers
•    Fire ants are very aggressive and will swarm anything they perceive to be a threat, stinging over and over

There are several varieties of fire ants, and the worst of all is the Red Imported Fire Ant. This species is not native to North America; it was brought into the US in the 1930s via a cargo shipment. They exhibit aggressive swarming behavior, painful stings, and are able to rapidly reproduce. They will protect their mound in large numbers, often delivering multiple stings to the attacking animal or person. These ants are currently located in at least 15 states, one of which is Georgia.

Protect your home, family, and pets by taking advantage of our fire ant control program at ForeverGro, Inc. We know how to handle these pesky insects without being stung. Our ant control program is a simple 2 step program that consists of 2 applications per year, which provides year round coverage. The first application is applied during round 2 of our lawn care program, which runs from around mid-March to the end of April. We aim to get this done prior to the ants even becoming active. This application is based around the weather; if it’s been too cold, we’ll do it later. This fire ant control program also covers fleas & ticks, so you have the added benefit of not having to worry about them year round as well.

The second application is done around round 6 of our lawn care program, which is done around the end of August. This application also covers fire ants as the main target, with the added benefit of killing fleas and ticks. Each application provides 6 months of coverage, and is guaranteed. If for some reason you have a problem and are spotting these insects even after treatment, we will come back out to your property and eradicate the problem free of charge.

The bait is applied to the ground to combat the problem of fire ants, fleas, and ticks before they ever get the chance to become a problem. In this way, it’s like a preventative treatment. Let ForeverGro, Inc. treat your lawn for fire ants, fleas, and ticks before they get the chance to bite you or your pets or make their way into your home. Stay on a regular routine of having your yard treated twice per year to stay ahead of the problem.

In addition to fire ant control, we also provide grub control services. Grubs are the larval stage of beetles and they feed on the roots in your lawn. In addition to killing your grass by eating its roots, they attract all sorts of animals to your yard that will dig it up in search of the grubs. If your lawn is suffering from dead patches or frequently has animals scavenging on it, you may have grubs. Cut a 1 foot square section of the grass and attempt to pull it up as if it were carpet. If it comes up easily, it’s likely that you have a grub problem. You may also be able to see the grubs underneath the grass; they’re C shaped and white.
